Whites and Greens Beach Resort in Panglao Island, Bohol: Your Home by the Beach
Our recent trip to Bohol was made complete by a tour of the province and a beach escapade through an overnight stay at Whites and Greens Beach Resort in Panglao Island. We spent the night swimming and walking by the beach up to the neighboring Dumaluan Beach Resort and the high-end Bohol Beach Club.
Each room at Whites and Greens can accommodate up to six people. We were 12 and to save on money, we rented two rooms and maximized each room (rented at P1,600 per night for two people, inclusive of breakfast) by billeting six people in each room. The additional four persons per room were charged P300 each, inclusive of breakfast as well. Given that, we paid P2,800 per room. Cheap, isn’t it?
Whites and Greens is quiet and therefore, relaxing. It is neat and small compared to the other beach resorts found in Panglao Island. Based on my count, there are only six rooms in the entire resort. There is a small restaurant in the middle that serves a small selection of food. If you’re a foodie, you may get a bit disappointed with the lack of food choices. I have a solution for that. Go to the next beach resort (Dimaluan) and have your dinner there. Dimaluan has several restaurants to choose from. Their private beach resort even has bands providing musical performances exclusive for diners. But that’s a different story.
At Whites and Greens, all rooms are air-conditioned and the rest rooms have showers. They provide blankets and towels, too. There is also an open cabinet in each room where you can place your bags and valuables.
Based on our experience, Whites and Greens still needs some improvements. For one, they have to ensure that their water supply is stable. During our stay, the water would come and go. Their rooms, which they claim can accommodate up to six people, are very small to allow such. Unless they do a make-over, I believe their rooms can accommodate only up to four people comfortably.
Overall, our overnight stay at Whites and Greens was awesome. The owners, who happened to be there that time (we were the only paying customers that night as they were having a family reunion and they were occupying the rest of the rooms), were very warm and kind to us. We event chatted several times. We learned from them that the beach resort opened just three years ago.
Looking for a cheap accommodation at Panglao Island? One that’s neat, clean and quiet? Whites and Greens is my top choice at present.
